Ryanair made an announcement on 19th of April, 2011 about radical changes it is going to bring-in in its operations. Ryanair is on way to about-face and most likely introducing reserved seating on quite a few flights. Claimed as to be Europe's largest budget carrier, the carrier services is working out on a pilot project. That states, it would trial reserved seating, where customers are issued with a seat number before boarding. This attempt will be done on a select number of flights those operating between Dublin, Ireland, Spain. Plans are under-way to start this new system by the end of May 16. It will allow boarding travellers to pre-reserve seats according to their desire. Seating are made available for bookings at two different places on board. One is in the first two rows and other is over-wing rows. A place where more legroom is made available. Travellers will have to make an additional payment of 10 Euros each way. It includes priority boarding, which is otherwise priced for 4 Euros. Ryanair Spokesperson in an interview said, "If the service proved popular, it would be rolled out selectively on other Ryanair routes in the coming months. " The Airlines company is following fundamentals of low-cost airline model as adopted by number of other airliners such as EasyJet, Southwest Airlines and AirAsia. Unallocated seating has brought out several advantages to airliners, in reducing paperwork, speed up boarding and so on. Global recession and recent oil crises in Europe and rest of world has forced airliners to squeeze additional money from passengers. Unlike EasyJet, to enhance businesses, which includes flexible ticketing last month. Offering seat for a price by Ryanair will allow them to join a team of low-cost names such as JetBlue and GermanWings. Ryanair has teamed up with BCP and allows passengers to save up to 60 per cent on their ticket fares.
